Tear down the wall. For realsies.

A 2 day project in and of itself, we finally ripped the old wall down, opening up the kitchen and living room. There used to be a small random window opening in the wall, so we worked off of that hole and knocked down the plaster, studs, etc... until we had a hole in the wall. Lots of work and careful consideration in this one, as this is the main center weight-baring wall in the house. We had to leave the studs after the first day so the house could settle some, then we used a "dead man" to hold the house up while we cut downthe remainder of the studs and got the big beam in the top . I think it looks a thousand times bigger and better without the wall!!
